I woke up this morning and looked in the mirror, the sight of my appearance had me forgetting who I was, it took a couple minutes to kick in and suddenly I remembered that am the daughter of Daniel and Jacqueline Mulenga- Mel. Clearly, am not a morning person but sometimes you got to do what you got to do.
As I drove to class the first thought that came to my mind was class introductions and ice breakers, so I thought to myself, self if you get called on what exactly are you going to say about yourself , I mean first impressions are always essential, you don't want to look like this on the first day of class...
So I decided on this; 'Hello! My name is Mel Mulenga, am a Junior and majoring in Marketing and my minor is Advertising. I love anything with art, I've taken 3 courses in Art at UT and all throughout high school I was taking art classes. My mom knew it would be something I would love because when I was younger I made her an ugly observational drawing of a vase which she found amazing, she went ahead and framed the thing, its lying somewhere collecting dust in their house,' so how does that sound?
I attended the first class, I think am going to enjoy this one though. I love classes where you feel so comfortable and free to express yourself. I was thinking to myself, I hope I really get a lot from this class, enough to help me experiment with different forms of art, help me to be more creative and take what I have learned and apply it to my field of work in the future.
Well I have to go now am starving like marvin and need food asap, later!
